I wanted to share with you the importance of your home exercises today. You know, when I talk about home exercises, the key thing to remember here is soft tissues. Those are your muscles, tendons, ligaments, even connective tissue, that’s involved throughout the entire body. As a chiropractor, it’s easy for my patients to sometimes forget that the soft tissues are so important to their healing process, because, when we look at x-rays, or we are just thinking about a chiropractor, many times people just think about bones. But what you can’t forget is that what surrounds all those bones, and makes them move, bend, and do what they need to do at every joint in your body, are those muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue. So home exercise is critical to your progress.
Now, what I want to mention on home exercise is that you have most likely already received your specific home care program, which will evolve as your care changes. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all for everyone. What I do believe in is something that is right for each specific patient. So what helps me give the best possible home exercises is I have access to a database that I want to show you right here on the screen, of over, I don’t know, I think there’s 8,000 exercises in this thing. But this database allows me to prescribe the exact right exercise for any and all situations. Regardless if a person’s using a walker, a cane, if they’re in a cast, if they can only sit, if they can’t get on the floor, I can make a modification, and create an exercise program that’s right for you and nobody else. So I wanted to show you that. It’s really cool, the way that this thing works. I’ll show you mine. I just put up a mock prescription of an exercise program for myself here on the screen so everybody can see that. But the big idea here is with you in mind you’re gonna get exactly what you need. So home care is so important. Do your part. Participate again. This is another way to transform your health, through participation, so make sure you do that by doing your home care.
